Prof. Abhishek SRIVASTAVA’s Team Honored for Groundbreaking Invention at This Year's AEII
The Asia Exhibition of Innovations and Inventions Hong Kong (AEII) is an annual event dedicated to showcasing innovations and inventions from Asia, held in Hong Kong. It partners with Palexpo, Geneva, the organizer of the International Exhibition of Inventions Geneva. Supported by the International Federation of Inventors' Associations, the World Intellectual Property Organization, and various local and international organizations, the exhibition is known for its high level of competition and diverse range of participants. It attracts significant attention from investors, businesspeople, entrepreneurs, specialists, and media from the Middle East, North Africa, Europe, Southeast Asia, and other regions.
This year at the AEII, Prof. Abhishek Srivastava’s team received significant recognition when their groundbreaking invention, led by Dr. Maksym Prodanov, won a prestigious Gold Medal. Their Quantum Rod LED technology tackles three major issues with traditional LEDs: low energy efficiency, harmful blue light emissions, and limited color range. The team developed Quantum Rods, a luminescent nanomaterial exhibiting exceptional brightness and thermal stability. By integrating these rods with blue LEDs, they achieved remarkable luminous efficiency over 200 lm/W, superior color spectrum customization (CRI > 95, Color Gamut > 120% NTSC), and reduced blue light impact, surpassing both phosphor and quantum dot alternatives. This revolutionary invention is set to transform next-generation lighting and display technologies, including mini-LED, photoluminescent color filters, and electroluminescent displays. Leading this innovative shift, the startup Roumei Technology is pioneering the future of LED technology.
